No. AI Pack Scan and voice do not infer or silently save prices in 1.7. Each move uses one stored currency code, and changing that code does not convert amounts already entered.

Yes. When estimated values are included in a contents export, PDF/CSV output can show per-item values, line totals, box subtotals, the estimated value of valued items and valuation coverage. Unvalued items stay blank rather than being treated as zero.

Open Settings & backup → Contents & reports → Review estimated values. The workflow is designed for post-packing review and can show Unvalued, Valued or All items. You can leave at any time; there is no requirement to value everything.

Values are optional and entered deliberately after normal packing. The amount is the estimated replacement value for one unit; quantity calculates the line total. Blank means unvalued, while an intentional zero remains a valued item.

On the Master project, choose Collaborate → Share project, choose Entire project, Selected rooms or Selected boxes, then show the QR. The Contributor must be nearby for this initial handoff: they scan it in PackQR, verify the invitation and receive only that local baseline. Later, additions can be returned directly while nearby or as an encrypted PackQR handoff file shared remotely—for example by email. The Master reviews returned additions before import.

Yes. PackQR 1.8 can share the entire eligible project, selected rooms or selected boxes. Out-of-scope Master inventory is not transferred to the Contributor.

Mark a box Sensitive to conceal protected names, notes, photos and estimated replacement values behind Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode. Sensitive Master boxes are excluded from collaboration sharing.

Yes. On Home, turn the Sensitive boxes switch on. Private boxes lock immediately while the rest of PackQR stays usable. Turning the switch back off requires device authentication.

After the Master imports a returned contribution, Continue packing together creates a brand-new session and fresh QR from the updated Master state. It carries forward the previous scope where valid but does not reopen the delivered batch or create live sync.

No. Wi-Fi should be enabled on both devices for the initial nearby QR handoff, but they do not need to join the same Wi-Fi network. Keep them nearby until PackQR confirms that initial transfer. A later direct return also needs nearby devices; an encrypted handoff file can instead be returned remotely, so the devices do not need to be together.

Yes. Once the initial collaboration copy has been handed over nearby, the Contributor can keep packing elsewhere and send the encrypted PackQR return file back—for example by email. The Master opens it in PackQR and reviews the additions before import.

No. Version 1.8 still uses one Master and one Contributor per active session. The Contributor works from a local read-only Master baseline and the Master sees additions only when they are explicitly returned and imported—either directly nearby or from an encrypted handoff file sent remotely. Continue packing together creates another fresh session rather than a live channel.

PackQR uses Apple on-device speech recognition on supported production configurations and does not deliberately fall back to online recognition. PackQR does not retain an audio recording.

Yes. PackQR can keep reviewed AI suggestions and voice additions in one temporary Pack Batch. You can also correct the current pending AI suggestion by voice, then review the combined batch and confirm once.

No. Voice input is addition-only. Use Manage to delete or move saved inventory. Pending rows in an unconfirmed Pack Batch can be removed before saving.

AI Pack Scan is an optional data-entry shortcut. Photograph an item and PackQR may suggest a name, alternatives and a quantity. Review or replace the result before saving. Read the full recognition guide.

No. Recognition is not expected to be perfect and will not identify everything. Results depend on the specific object and photograph, including ambient lighting, reflections, shadows, angle, distance, background and how much of the item is visible. Manual naming is always available.

No. PackQR’s core recognition runs on the device using Apple Vision. It does not send item photographs to a PackQR server or hosted large-AI recognition service, and it does not require an active internet connection.

No. PackQR does not depend on an ongoing subscription to an external large-model API for this feature. It remains part of the pay-once, local-first app.

When enabled, PackQR can store compact visual examples from items you deliberately correct or teach. Similar later photographs may produce more useful suggestions. Examples stay on the device and remain linked to their source item and photo. Learning can help, but it does not guarantee a correct result.

PackQR is a focused, pay-once £1.99 moving tool. The intended design has no ads, PackQR account, monthly plan or hosted PackQR database for your box contents. It is built for packing, QR labels, scanning and moving-day search rather than business inventory management or insurance documentation.

No. PackQR does not require a PackQR account, hosted database or login for the core app.

No. PackQR does not automatically sync a shared moving database across devices. Use manual export and restore when you want to move or protect a copy of your data.

Labels show moving-day information: box number, destination room, QR code, handling flags and the PackQR name. Contents, item names, notes and photos do not appear on labels.
