The app is completing App Store review and may not yet be available in your region. PackQR 1.2 can detect whether Move Planner is installed and can prepare a private aggregate summary only when sharing is enabled.
Getting started
Create a plan without an account. Choose your move type, UK region, date status and any household details that affect the checklist. You can use a confirmed date, a tentative date, a target week or no date yet.
Today
Shows the move status and the next three useful actions. Open the full Plan only when you need more detail.
Plan
Browse tasks by phase and category, search, filter, add custom tasks and review rescheduled work.
Move Day
Focuses on the final 48 hours, access, keys, meters, helpers, essentials and immediate arrival checks.
Settings
Change move details, reminders, optional PackQR connection, export options and local data controls.
Changing the move date
When the move date or target week changes, Move Planner recalculates incomplete generated tasks. Completed tasks and manually dated custom tasks are not silently moved. A summary explains the change.
Notifications and badges
The app asks for notification permission only after explaining the value. Local reminders continue without a PackQR server. The optional app-icon badge normally shows 1 only for an unseen actionable reminder, not the total number of unfinished tasks. Viewing Today clears or recalculates it.
Actionable reminders can offer Open Today and Remind tomorrow. Same-day task reminders can be consolidated into one smart briefing, while weekly briefings are silent by default. Archiving or resetting a plan removes Planner reminders and badges.
Widgets and quick actions
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets can show the date status, countdown and next useful action. Long-pressing the app icon can provide shortcuts to Today, Add a task, Move Day and the full Plan. These features use local app-extension data and remain useful without a hosted account.
Seven-day Coming Up
Today can open a compact seven-day sheet so you can see nearby work without loading the complete plan. A separate optional reminder can ask you to review whether a tentative move date is now confirmed.
Move Day Live Activity
A Live Activity can be started manually from Move Day to keep the current stage, next useful check and completion counts visible on supported Lock Screens and Dynamic Island devices. It never starts automatically and ends when you stop it, archive the plan or reset the app.
Using Move Planner without PackQR
All core planning features work independently. You do not need to install or buy the PackQR box app. Where a packing-related action is relevant, Move Planner always provides a planner-only route.
Optional PackQR connection
PackQR 1.2 can report whether Move Planner is detected on the device. Detection does not enable sharing. When Move Planner is installed and both apps opt in, Move Planner can read the local packqr.summary.v1 summary from the shared App Group. It contains total box count, unpacked count, Open First count, room identifiers/names with aggregate counts, last successful backup date and the summary update time.
Contextual buttons can then open PackQR at Home/Rooms, a preselected New Box flow, a filtered room list, Open First, Backup, packing progress, Move Day scanning or unpacking. Routes are versioned and validated. A deleted or invalid room falls back safely to the room chooser.
The summary does not contain item names, photos, notes, QR payloads, search history or backup contents, and PackQR data never completes a Planner task automatically.
Offline use and exports
The complete task catalogue is bundled with the app. Core planning, completion, rescheduling and reminders are designed to work offline. Plan and completion summaries can be exported when you choose using the system share sheet.
Resetting local data
The Settings screen includes a confirmed action to delete the local plan and planner data. This does not delete PackQR box inventory.
